Overview
Belonging to Tom Holder (yes I checked; yes really; actually Thomas Holder - awesome bit of nominative determinism!), this is believed to be a one-of-a-kind "White Angel" Tribal Stainless Steel Black Panther that he won in a Mapex competition in 2006.
Spec wise, it's the same as the "standard" Tribal Stainless Steel Black Panther but with black chrome hardware and finished in white over the reverse-etched graphics. It came with the same "tribal" heads, but Tom has (like most people) since replaced the batter head. Pity Mapex didn't make more of those custom heads available, but that's an argument for another day.
Yet another "unicorn" snare, this time one that comes with it's own tattoos!
Later note: This one caused some controversy when I posted it on the Facebook group. There was quite a bit of suspicion; the serial number is in the range of the "standard" Tribal ones, and there didn't appear to be any provenance apart from Tom's statement that he won it in 2006. Tom posted a link to an old Drummerszone page that showed the competition but it doesn't load on PCs and there was no follow up anywhere. However, after quite a dive down the Internet Wayback rabbithole I found this thread from Dec 2006 which announced the winning of this snare and some (admittedly not great) photos of it. Tom later sent me the original of the batter head photo, so 100% confirmed.
So we cry "unicorn" and are horribly jealous of Tom!
