Overview
Another beautiful piccolo from the Mapex / Beyond Shimano collaboration. This one is finished in waxed Vintage Oil Natural Brown with racing stripes in natural maple. Honestly, just when you think Shimano San can't get any better...along comes proof that he always can.
Both bearing edges are rounded to enhance the mid-low tone and the snare bed is cut deeper than usual to 3mm.
Update Sept 2022
Chris Morley let me know that he'd spotted the exact drum shown in the main shots on Reverb in Hong Kong. I contacted the seller (Kin Hang Yam of RockinDrums) and Kim was kind enough to confirm he'd bought it months ago from eBay and let me use his shots. As you can see it's still in mint condition. Nice to track the history of such a special drum eh? Now, where's my chequebook...

久し振りのピッコロ作成です。お客様の要望でブラックパーツ仕様、ダエキャストフープ仕様です。
エクステリアにはバーズアイメイプルを装飾した6 ply 7ミリシェル。ベアリングエッジはあえて丸いラウンド形状。今風のドンシャリは勿論ですが、ピッコロの深さ以上に中低域が出せるよう にバターサイド、スネアサイド共にラウンド形状。シャリ系のトーンはスネアベッドを3ミリにカ ット。この手の浅いピッコロでは珍しくやや深めのカットにしております。シェル単体は240g以下 まで乾燥させております。こちらのモデルはブラックパーツ仕様です。パンチの効いたアタック感はピッコロならではの深さと、ダエキャストフープが効果を発揮せれます。
