Overview
Maple and Walnut shell. UK only limited edition. Made to replicate the American Soul sound, hence the name, the snare has a 7.88mm shell: 2-ply of Maple and 4-plys of Walnut to give a loud 'crack' with a lovely warm tone. It has a lacquered Burl Maple outer ply and comes with chrome hardware including diecast rims.
Listed in the 2009 UK catalogue only, and no other Mapex catalogues as far as I can see. Note that although the specification is correct, the photo in the catalogue is blatently the Thick Flamed Maple model! Also, there's no catalogue number for this model shown in that catalogue. It is shown as BPMW4550NL on one old GAK listing, but that number doesn't show up anywhere else, so I can't corroborate it.
