Overview
The all-maple shell produces a distinctive woody sound embraced by drummers for generations. No matter what size you prefer, the maple shell will offer equal tones at any tuning.
This model was part of the original 1997 Black Panther line up, and a staple part of the range right up until it was replaced by the Black Laquered model in 2007. Despite that longevity, the 6.5" is significantly harder to track down than its shallower 5.5" sibling these days. I don't think that's down to them not being popular - I think people just don't get rid of them, as they are such an all-round workhorse.
