Overview
The Black Panther Steel is our loudest metal shell, yet it yields a wide dynamic range for soft articulation. The magnificent brightness embedded in the tonal bands makes the Black Panther Steel Snare an incredibly versatile, high-performance instrument.
This model seems to be pretty rare - certainly it took me ages to track down any photos at all. I should imagine that this is down to it only being released in 2005, and since no piccolo models survived the range fresh in 2007, it wasn't around too long. I eventually found an example on the Fat Llama website. It was, at the time of writing (May 2022), available to rent if you fancy trying it out! Also managed to track another example down in April 2023 from eBay's mid-century-vinyl-and-drums. Nearly a year and only two examples - not a common model these days!
