Overview
The third in a series of oil coated snares made by Shimano San in late 2018, this quilted maple shell has had 4 coats of oil to produce the final dark colour. Despite being "in love" with nitrocellulose lacquer for over 25 years, he says he'd got rather stuck in a rut, and so used multiple coats of oil this time, which allowed more control over the final colour.

One Off
３台目はさらなるオイル塗装にチャレンジしました。数色のオイルを塗り重ねて目的のカラーに仕上げる。これが３台目のテーマです。ラッカー塗装は調合次第でそれなりの色味ができますが、オイル塗装はその物ずばりの色味になる。マンネリなカラーではつまらない。と言う事で着色にトライしました。実際４色を塗り重ねてこの色味までできました。まあ塗り重ねは段々濃くはなりますが、、、淡い色の仕上げは不向きです。ただホワイトカラーのオイルもありますので、杢目を淡くさせたりも可能です。２５年位前からニトロセルロースラッカーの良さに惚れ込み、そして１５年位前からオイル塗装にもチャレンジしてまいりました。オイル塗装の良さは素材の音が一番ナチュラルな形で発音される事が好きでたまりません。
