Overview

Perfect for both live and studio use, Black Panther Cherry Snares feature a luxurious handrubbed finish. With tone that’s slightly sweeter and more full-bodied than maple, the series is distinctive in both its sound and its look. Over time, the color as well as the tone of the drum will grow sweeter. The drums are appointed with 24K Gold lugs and hoops for an extra touch of luxury.

There are two versions of this shell in the 2007 catalogues - this Wax Natural version is in the 2007 International catalogue, whereas the 2007 International catalogue features the Gloss Natural version; that one continues in the next few catalogues. Same shell, slightly different finish, but with two separate catalogue numbers.

This range was listed in the catalogues as "Deep Forest Cherry" up until 2007, when the Deep Forest branding was dropped across the whole Black Panther stable. After this, the range was simply listed as "Cherry"*. The catalogue numbers and the specifications didn't change though, and as I've never yet seen an example that didn't have a Deep Forest badge, I merged the two separate listings on this site in March 2022. To be honest, I'm not sure why they dropped the Deep Forest brand from the catalogues, but continued to badge the drums with it. If I get any information on this, I'll update the listings.

*except strangely, the 2009 UK catalogue, where only the 14" x 5.5" model appears, branded once again as "Deep Forest Cherry". That catalogue does the same with the (8.5mm Sugar Burst) Walnut models that were never listed as "Deep Forest". I get that the vast majority, if not all, examples of both models did still have the Deep Forest badge on them, but it's a bit inconsistent.
